When a brand sends us a new style, the first thing we ask for is the tech pack. It's the document that describes the garment in every detail, and the more complete it is, the faster and more accurate the work will be. Here's what we need to find in it.
A flat drawing of the garment, front and back, with seams, pockets, darts, closures and topstitching clearly visible. It doesn't need to be an artistic sketch: it needs to be a clear drawing that shows how the garment is constructed.
The finished garment measurements in the base size, with tolerances, and if possible the grading for the other sizes. If you don't have them, we can work them out together from a reference garment.
Main fabric or leather, lining, interfacing, and then all the trims: zippers, buttons, snaps, labels, threads. For each one, list the supplier, item number, color and quantity per garment. This is what's called the bill of materials.
Seam type, stitches per centimeter, inside finishes, label placement, special washes or treatments. A photo of a similar garment with an arrow pointing to the detail helps a lot, too.
The planned colors, the quantities per size and the date you need the garments. That way we can plan purchasing and production.
If your tech pack isn't complete, don't worry: we'll put it together with you. Send us what you have and we'll start from there.
